They get their payments instantaneously without using any payment device.. the customer just uses their phone to scan a QR code and pay what is owed.

No intermediary fees .. the vendor gets paid in full. Google UPI … Mastercard and Visa are getting crushed.

Everyone in India has a biometric linked ID and a bank account .. even the poorest of poor.

They won’t accept cash because they say they don’t have any change because of a nationwide shortage of coins. But, they also won’t accept cash even if you happen to have exact change or are happy to round up to nearest dollar.
